GIARDIAVAX (Giardia Vax)
GIARDIAVAX dog vaccine Giardia Lamblia Vaccine Killed Protozoa FOR USE IN DOGS ONLY For subcutaneous vaccination of healthy dogs, 8 weeks of age or older, as an aid in the prevention of disease and shedding caused by Giardia lamblia infections.
Giardias is a health concern for people and dogs. While Giardia infection is a recognized zoonotic disease, the role that the dog assumes in human disease is not well established. GiardiaVax® has been proven to prevent clinical disease caused by Giardia lamblia infection in dogs and to significantly reduce the incidence, severity and duration of cyst shedding. Subsequent to Giardia lamblia exposure, some vaccinates may shed, therefore, proper hygiene and sanitation practices should be implemented.
DOSE: Dogs, inject one 1 mL dose subcutaneously using aseptic technique. A second dose is given 2 to
4 weeks after the first vaccination. Annual revaccination is recommended.
