function openEditWin(filnam){ EditWindow=new iMwin; EditWindow.focus(); } Description
- Single-dose treatment for removal of large roundworms and hookworms in adult dogs and puppies.
- Provides exceptional safety and nematocidal efficacy.
Approved Uses
NEMEX ® (pyrantel pamoate) TABS are approved for:
- Removal of large roundworms ( Toxocara canis and Toxascaris leonine ) and hookworms ( Ancylostoma caninum and Uncinaria stenocephala ) in dogs and puppies.
- Prevention of reinfestation of T. canis in adult dogs, puppies and lactating bitches after whelping.
Key Features
- Tablets provide convenient, nonliquid administration.
- Anthelmintic treatment of nursing puppies can help eliminate prenatal or lactogenically acquired roundworms and hookworms.
- Removing the worm burden can dramatically affect positive growth performance and well-being of puppies.
- Treatment minimizes environmental contamination that contributes to reinfection.
- May assist protection against zoonotic infection of children and adults.
- No fasting is required before or after administration.
- Strategic de-worming of puppies provides protection at the time of greatest vulnerability to effects of parasitism.
- Can be conveniently dispensed in original container.
Packaging
- Tablets are available in bottles of 100 22.7-mg tablets for small dogs, or bottles of 50 113.5-mg tablets for large dogs.
- Opaque bottles minimize loss of potency due to photosensitivity of pyrantel pamoate.
Dosage and Administration
- No fasting is required before or after administration.
- For small dogs and puppies, give 1 tablet (22.7 mg) per 10 lbs of body weight. Tablets may be broken in half for additional 5 lbs. For large dogs, give 1 tablet (113.5 mg) per 50 lbs of body weight. Tablets may be broken in half for each additional 25 lbs.
- Dogs under constant worm exposure should have a follow-up fecal exam 2–4 weeks after treatment.
- For maximum control, it is recommended that puppies be treated at 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 10 weeks of age.
- Lactating bitches should be treated 2–3 weeks after whelping.
- Adult dogs kept in heavily contaminated quarters may be treated at monthly intervals to prevent T. canis reinfestation.
